Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library announces new digital library

Chris Graham

woodrow wilson presidential libraryThe Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library announces the release of its newly updated digital library accessible through woodrowwilson.org.

Containing over 6,000 documents, this searchable database builds on the former eLibrary to make documents from Woodrow Wilson’s era available to the public.

Covering topics from Woodrow Wilson’s personal and family life to official war correspondence, and containing articles, correspondence, and speeches by and about the 28th President of the United States, the WWPL Digital Library is free to access for anyone with an internet connection. The largest collection consists of the Cary T. Grayson Papers, which includes Dr. Grayson’s official records regarding Wilson’s health, and the many smaller collections hold gems such as love letters between Woodrow Wilson and Ellen Wilson, and the courtship correspondence between Wilson and Edith Bolling Galt.

High school students can learn about World War One through reading official plans, and academic scholars can peruse diary entries of the Paris Peace Conference and the aftermath of Woodrow Wilson’s stroke.

This new database was made possible by a grant from the Ruth M. Tankersley Trust. For more information or research assistance, contact WWPL Head Archivist Elizabeth Shortt at [email protected].
