Women’s Basketball: UVA defeats Pitt, 64-50, advances to second round

Kymora Johnson scored 17 points and handed out seven assists as 10th-seeded Virginia downed No.15 seed Pitt, 64-50, in the first round of the 2025 ACC Tournament.

Breona Hurd added 15 points for UVA (17-14), while Latasha Lattimore had 12 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots for the Cavaliers, who posted their fifth win in the last six games.

Four of those victories have come away from home.

Virginia moves on to face seventh-seeded Cal (24-7) in Thursday’s 5 p.m. ET second-round game.

The Golden Bears won the regular-season meeting, 76-70, on Feb. 20 in Charlottesville.
