A late 10-2 UVA run cut a nine-point Washington State lead to one, but the Cavaliers could not get over the hump in a 75-74 loss to the Cougars on Friday at the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout.

Kymora Johnson led Virginia (6-2) with 20 points, and added five assists and five rebounds. Latasha Lattimore had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Paris Clark chipped in 13 points and six boards.

The Cavaliers are back in action today for their Shootout finale against Wyoming. Tipoff from Coliseo Guillermo Angulo is set for 12:30 p.m. ET on FloHoops.
