Woman arrested in Augusta County domestic incident

masonA woman is in custody after she allegedly stabbed her estranged husband following a domestic incident in Augusta County on Monday.

Joan Mason faces malicious wounding charges after the incident at 275 Jericho Road in Fishersville late Monday night.

The victim, Mason’s estranged husband, whose name was not released, suffered stab wounds to his leg and arm.

Mason allegedly left the scene in the victim’s 2007 Honda Civic. She also faces a charge related to the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The victim was transported to Augusta Health for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Mason turned herself in to the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday without incident.

She is currently being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
