The Augusta and Rockingham areas are under a Winter Weather Advisory that goes into effect at 4 p.m. Tuesday and runs through 9 a.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service is forecasting freezing rain and sleet for the area beginning late in the afternoon and continuing into the overnight hours.
Accumulations of ice from a trace up to a tenth of an inch are possible at elevations above 1,200 feet.
Temperatures are projected to remain in the lower 30s for the duration of the weather event.
