LOSERS: The businesses that are going to see less of my money now that I know who they support

Nothing wrong with showing your colors in an election cycle. I’m sure we’re going to see some sort of dropoff because of where we stand.

(OK, so our local readership has tripled since the election. I’m trying to be nice.)

No more Wendy’s burgers, Willy’s ice cream, light music from Star-94.3, cheap crap from Main Street Discount.

I can live with that.

WINNER: Dave Koehn named Voice of the Cavaliers

I got on the horn with Koehn this morning, and after a quick five-minute chat about the new job, I said to myself, “We’re going to like this guy.”

He’s young – at 32 – for a play-by-play man at an ACC school. But hey, I’m around that age, and I’m trying to get into politics.

LOSERS: Staunton city employees

That hiring freeze should be oh, so much fun the next few months.

Yeah. It’s hard enough making more with less in the name of efficiency as it is. Try doing the guy who left’s job with less along with yours.

And we can thank … Dominion Virginia Power.

TODAY’S HOT OR NOT: The News Virginian’s new blogs

I’ve tried twice in the last two days to submit comments, and both times gotten error messages telling me that I need to be registered to be able to do so. So when I try to register, I get a message telling me I’m already registered and logged in. And then I try to comment, and I get, you guessed it, the error message telling me that I need to register.

So not hot.
