Westbound Interstate 64 lane closure in Rockbridge Nov. 1-2 for sinkhole repair

interstate 64The right lane of westbound Interstate 64 in Rockbridge County is scheduled to close for sinkhole repairs on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 1-2. The lane closure will be in place from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day between from mile marker 52 to 50.

The sinkhole was recently discovered along the right shoulder of westbound I-64, outside the guardrail near mile marker 51. The locations is between exit 55 (Lexington) and exit 50 (Kerrs Creek). Motorists should be alert for work trucks using the westbound off-ramp at exit 50.

All work is weather permitting.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
