Waynesboro wins at Winchester, 6-0

wlogo2Four Waynesboro pitchers limited Winchester to five hits, Thomas Stallings hit a two-run homer, and Corbin Lucas delivered a clutch two-RBI double to push the Generals to a 6-0 win over the Royals Wednesday night.

Tyler Fox (freshman, Nebraska-Omaha) earned the win for Waynesboro, giving up three hits in five innings to improve to 2-2 on the season.

Lucas (sophomore, Shenandoah) and Tyler Bocock (sophomore, Stetson) each had three hits for Waynesboro. The home run by Stallings (sophomore, VMI) was his first of the season.

The win improves Waynesboro to 11-14 on the season and gives the Generals a two-game edge for the fourth and final playoff spot in the South Division over idle Rockbridge.

The Valley League is off for the Fourth of July. Waynesboro returns to action Friday at home against Strasburg. The game is the WSVA Waynesboro Generals Game of the Week. First pitch is at 7 p.m. Join Chris Graham for the pregame show on 550AM at 6:30 p.m.
