Tuesday, September 9, 12:00 pm – Music at the Library featuring country music by singer and songwriter Mark Hackley. Enjoy free pizza and soda.

Tuesday, September 2, 6:30 pm – Pajama Night. Come in your jammies for some bedtime fun – a story, crafts, games and more for children in preschool or early elementary.

Friday, September 5, 9:30-11:30 am – Chat-N-Play provides interactive play for your little one and conversation for you. Open to children ages 0-3 and their caregivers.

Wednesday, September 10, 7:00 pm – Project Grows. Executive Director, Ryan Blosser, explains this youth-oriented community farm in Augusta County. Their mission is to improve the overall health of children and youth through community farming that includes hands-on experience, nutrition education, and access to healthy food.

Friday, September 12, 6:30 pm – Friday Night at the Movies. Showing new releases on the big screen. Free popcorn and drinks. Check at the library for the featured film.

Saturday, September 13, 1-3:00 pm – Agatha Christie Tea Party. Celebrate Agatha Christie’s 150th Anniversary. Bring your favorite mug or tea cup and join us for sweets, door prizes, and lots of tea. Please sign up.

Wednesday, September 17, 7:00 pm – Wednesday Night Book Club. Fascinating and far ranging discussion with other book lovers. The book is provided, participants vote on selections, and a staff member leads the discussion.

Wednesday, September 24, 12-8pm – Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale. FOL members preview only. Memberships on sale at the door. 5,000 hardcover and paperback books from 50 cents to $10. Rare and collectable books from $10-100.

Thursday, September 25, 12-8 pm – Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale. Open to the public. 5,000 hardcover and paperback books from 50 cents to $10. Rare and collectable books from $10-100.

Monday

4:00 pm – WPL Knitters. Bring your materials and socialize with other knitters.

 

Tuesday

10:00 am – Walking Book Club. Meet at the library briefly to discuss current books you’re reading, and then hit the Greenway for a walk. Sign-up at the library.

 

Wednesday

9:30 am –  Mother Goose Time is an interactive program featuring songs, finger-plays, books, movements, and nursery rhymes for children from birth through age two and their caregivers.

10:30 am – Story Time features books, stories, songs, puppets, flannel board activities, and crafts for children ages two through five accompanied by an adult

 

Thursday

9:30 am – Mamá Ganso, mother Goose in Spanish, features stories, songs, finger-plays, and movements for children from birth through age two and their caregivers.

10:00 am – Computer classes are offered Thursday of every week. Classes rotate between Computer Basics, Basic Internet Skills, Introduction to Microsoft Word and Introduction to Microsoft Excel.  Call (540) 942-6746 to register.
