waynesboro3August – Book-A-Trip. Everyone is invited to read Under the Sea-Wind by Rachel Carson and go on the bus trip to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. Copies of the book are available to purchase at WPL.

Friday, August 9, 6:30 p.m. – Friday Night at the Movies. Showing new releases on the big screen. Free popcorn and drinks. Check at the library for the featured film. 

Saturday, August 10 – Bus trip to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center as a part of the Book-A-Trip program. Call Parks & Rec at 942-6735 to sign up.

Tuesday, August 13, 12:00 p.m. – Music at the Library featuring Dr. Douglas Turner Day performing blues. Bring your lunch and we’ll provide the soda.

Tuesday, August 20, 7:00 p.m. – Beekeeping. Fred Holland, a beekeeper for over 20 years, brings his beekeeping tools and an observation hive to explain honeybee biology, their importance, and how the bees are managed.

Wednesday, August 21, 7:00 p.m. – Wednesday Night Book Club. Fascinating and far ranging discussion with other book lovers. The book is provided, participants vote on selections, and a staff member leads the discussion. This month’s selection is Under the Sea-Wind by Rachel Carson.

Friday, August 30, 6:30 p.m. – Friday Night at the Movies. Showing new releases on the big screen. Free popcorn and drinks. Check at the library for the featured film.

There will be no weekly story times in August.

Monday

4:00 p.m. WPL Knitters. Bring your materials and socialize with other knitters.

 

Thursday

10:00 a.mComputer classes are offered Thursday of every week. Classes rotate between Computer Basics, Basic Internet Skills, Introduction to Microsoft Word and Introduction to Microsoft Excel.  Call (540) 942-6746 to register.
