Waynesboro Police locate missing teen

Chris Graham

policecar3A Waynesboro teen reported missing by his father in December has been located and is in custody on a juvenile detention order.

The Waynesboro Police Department received an anonymous tip recently that Brandon Wallace was back in Waynesboro and had been for nearly two weeks. An officer located him at an address in the 800 block of Highland Ave at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. He was taken into custody without incident.

Wallace is being held in the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Staunton.  He did not require medical attention.

Wallace’s father, Tracy Lee Wallace, pled guilty on Monday to making a false report to police in connection with the report that the younger Wallace was missing. Tracy Wallace had reported his son as a runaway on Dec. 4, but detectives established that the father had actually facilitated Brandon with absconding from Virginia to his mother’s home in Columbus, Ohio.

According to the investigation, Brandon took a bus from Charlottesville on Dec. 4 and arrived in Columbus on Dec. 5.
