Waynesboro Generals win at Strasburg, 9-3

wlogo2Four Waynesboro Generals pitchers scattered 11 hits, Brian Beard hit his first home run, and the Generals rolled to a 9-3 victory at Strasburg Friday night.

Sean Bucholz (junior, Southern Miss) picked up the win with two and two-thirds innings of relief, allowing one run on three hits. Bryce Danielson (sophomore, Western Carolina) went four innings in the start, giving up a run on five hits, striking out four and walking four.

Chad Farmer (junior, Appalachian State) and Josh Thorne (freshman, Stetson) closed the game out for the Waynesboro staff.

Beard (freshman, Old Dominion) homered in the ninth and had two hits and two RBI to raise his season average to .264.

The win improves Waynesboro to 7-8 on the season, and keeps the Generals three and a half games back in the South Division.

The team returns home Saturday night to face Charles Town. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
