Waynesboro Generals drop doubleheader at Charles Town

generals-new logo2The Charles Town Cannons took both ends of a Thursday doubleheader with the Waynesboro Generals, winning game one, 8-4, and game two, 4-0.

Bradley Jones powered the Cannons to the win in the opener, with two homers, a solo shot in the first and a two-run blast in the third, plus an RBI double in the fifth, to finish 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Brandon Caples (1-3, 3.90 ERA) got the win for Charles Town, giving up four runs on six hits in a seven-inning complete game, striking out 10 and walking two.

Tyler Howe (2-1, 4.29 ERA) took the loss for Waynesboro in game one, giving up seven runs on seven hits in five and a third innings.

Clayton Taylor homered in the opener for Waynesboro, a three-run shot in the fifth.

Ari Kaufman (1-0, 4.50 ERA) pitched a gem for the Cannons in game two, giving up two hits in a seven-inning complete game, striking out eight and walking one.

Jamal Wilson (1-3, 6.05 ERA) took the loss for Waynesboro, giving up four runs on four hits in three and a third innings.
