Waynesboro: First two precincts push slightly to Obama

Two of Waynesboro’s four voting wards are reporting as of 8:40 p.m.

In Ward A, Democrat Barack Obama defeated Republican Mitt Romney 766 votes-579 votes – 56.2 percent-42.4 percent. In 2008, Obama won Ward A by a 755-601 margin over Republican John McCain – 54.9 percent-43.7 percent.

In Ward B. Romney defeated Obama 1,345 votes-1,001 votes – 56.1 percent-41.8 percent.

In 2008, McCain won Ward B by a slightly bigger margin – 1,259 votes-857 votes, or 58.8-39.5 percent.
