The Wayne Theatre-sponsored Boogie Kings/Scott Helmer fundraising performance at Constitution Park in Downtown Waynesboro scheduled for Friday evening has been canceled.
Helmer recently sustained a broken hand after a show during load out. He was supposed to get a clean bill of health and return to his performances beginning Friday, but was informed this morning that he must go in for one additional surgerytomorrow or Monday, to ensure full use of it going forward.
His orthopedic surgeon says it must be done now to guarantee full use and feeling.
