Henson Page Markell 2

Update: Friday, 2:33 p.m. Page Markell Henson has been apprehended.

Original story: A Staunton man wanted for an April 20 attack on an ex-girlfriend at a Waynesboro apartment returned to the scene of the crime and attacked her again late last night.

Page Markell Henson, 26, is still at large despite efforts by the Waynesboro Police Department, Augusta County Sheriff’s Office and United States Marshals Service to track him down.

Henson returned to the victim’s apartment Thursday night and attacked her again in retribution for the charges stemming from April’s incident.  At approximately 11:50 p.m., officers responded to the apartment complex for a report of Henson being seen nearby.  An officer spoke with 36-year-old victim who indicated Henson entered her apartment through an unlocked door and put her in a choke hold until she started blacking out.

He also kicked and punched her before she was able to fight him off.

Henson fled the scene before officers arrived.  He now faces three new charges in addition to the two felonies from April.

Since the April incident, few tips for Henson’s whereabouts have come in.  Henson is described as a black male, 6’0” and 205 pounds.  He is bald and has facial hair and numerous tattoos on his torso, neck and face.

Henson is from the Staunton area and may have headed there from Waynesboro.  Henson has gang affiliations that may be assisting in hiding him.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675 or Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 322-2017.  Information given to Crime Stoppers may be given anonymously.  Callers with information that lead to an arrest in this case are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
