Walmart Foundation Donated $5,000 to VPAS

Walmart Foundation donated $5,000 to the Valley Program for Aging Services Harrisonburg-Rockingham region.

vpasheader0311This donation was applied for through the Walmart Foundation Event “Volunteerism Always Pays.” Employees from Walmart Distribution Center donated 263 hours in volunteer time to projects in HR.  The projects involved painting Price Rotary Senior Center, in which the Walmart Distribution Center also donated all the wall paint, and decorating bags and wrapping gifts for Be a Santa to a Senior.

To receive this donation a Walmart employee must lead the volunteer event then apply for the donation.  The hours must be verified by the organization receiving the donation.
