A few months ago HR Regional Director Beth Bland received an email from a gentleman offering to do some yard work for older adults in the area. At the time of the email, there was not a current need. However, in the last two weeks, a need became known for a Center member.
This gentleman’s contact information was relayed to the member they were able to speak with him. Since that initial contact, the gentleman and his wife have come to the member’s house a number of times. According to the member, they are wonderful and are doing so much more than she expected!
When the member asked what she could give them for their work, they said the only thanks they would accept is homemade cookies! The heart of a volunteer makes them exceptional people! This is especially true with these two individuals!
