VMI’s Rob Dickinson named honorable mention All-American

vmi_logoVMI outfielder Rob Dickinson, the 2013 Big South Player of the Year, has been named a CollegeBaseballInsider.com/Louisville Slugger Honorable Mention All-American, according to information released Friday morning.

Dickinson was one of only three Big South players recognized among the 93 players earning honorable mention All-American honors, and is believed to be the first Keydet player to ever earn the honor.

The Richmond native, who hit .399 in his final season as a Keydet to rank him in the top-10 nationally, finished among the program’s all-time leaders in seven different categories. For his efforts, he earned conference player of the year honors, as well as First Team All-Region (American Baseball Coaches Association), Second Team All-State (VaSID) and Second Team All-ECAC laurels.
