The Virginia Hospital Research & Education Foundation is now known simply as the VHHA Foundation.
The non-profit arm of Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA) selected Richmond-based brand and marketing agencyMadison+Main earlier this year to conduct a rebranding effort, which reduced the organization’s name from 46 characters down to a more manageable 14 letters. VHHA Foundation, founded in 1964, provides continuing education programming, research and patient safety and quality programs to health care professionals across the Commonwealth.
“This rebranding effort marks our rededication to the core mission of the Foundation and our alignment with Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association,” said Tracey van Marcke, CEO of VHHA Foundation. “With our new brand, we’re ready to continue working to improve health in Virginia by supporting the professionals who work every day in Virginia’s hospitals and health systems.”
VHHA Foundation hosts many events and continuing education opportunities throughout the year, which are specifically focused on issues and challenges within Virginia’s health care sector. On September 27, it will host the state’s inaugural Virginia Behavioral Health Summit at the Westin Richmond hotel. This will be the first event of its kind and elements of the new brand will be shown to attendees for the first time.
“When we first started this rebranding process we had a few goals,” said Dave Saunders, Chief Idea Officer at Madison+Main. “Specifically, we wanted to align the Foundation within the VHHA branding framework and secondly to simplify the name and make it more memorable.”
