Chris Graham

virginia deqThe State Air Pollution Control Board will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond-Midlothian in Richmond.

The Board is expected to review and vote on the proposed permit on the Dominion Energy Buckingham Compressor Station.

The Board has indicated that the meeting, which will follow the close of a limited written public comment period requested by the Board, will not include further public comments from attendees. The two recently appointed Board members, Kajal Kapur and Gail Bush, are not
expected to participate or vote on the permit.

At the Board’s previous meeting on Dec. 19, voting on the proposed permit was deferred to allow supplemental written public comment on specific documents that members received from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) following the Nov. 8 and 9 meetings.

The documents relate to demographics and site suitability for the proposed compressor station.

The documents were made available on the DEQ website, the DEQ Piedmont Regional Office and at the Buckingham Public Library at the start of the public comment period on Dec. 21 (www.deq.virginia.gov/Programs/Air/BuckinghamCompressorStationAirPermit.aspx).
