Chris Graham

route 29F.L. Showalter, Inc. of Lynchburg, contractor for the waterline project in the Town of Amherst, will begin night work at the Route 29 Business and Second Street intersection next week and motorists will experience delays.

Beginning Sunday evening, June 26, weather permitting crews will be at work from 10 pm to 6 am. The work will continue for several consecutive nights until complete.

During this work, the 29 Business/Second Street intersection will be closed to traffic.  Motorists will use Route 1105, Goodwin Street and Route 1104, E. Court Street to bypass the work zone.

Signs and other traffic control devices will alert motorists to this closure.
