Vaughn named Planning Commissioner of the Year

Billy Vaughn  And Sharon Angle 12-3-12Billy Vaughn, the City of Staunton’s Planning Commission member, was recently awarded the Planning Commissioner of the Year Award by the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission.

The CSPDC sponsors the Annual Planning Commissioner of the Year Award.  This award recognizes the most outstanding local Planning Commission member of all of the 21 Planning Commissions in the region. The Commission wishes, through this award, to recognize the valuable service that Planning Commissions provide to their jurisdictions.

A lifelong citizen of Staunton, Vaughn has served on Staunton’s Planning Commission since 1988, with the exception of seven years when he served on the Staunton School Board.  Vaughn currently works as the Director of Community Development for Rockingham County and is a Certified Planning Commission Member.  Vaughn received his award at the CSPDC’s annual Commission meeting held on Dec. 3.

The CSPDC is a regional governmental organization that provides technical assistance and planning services to its local member jurisdictions in the Central Shenandoah region.
