UVA wrestling welcomes seven student-athletes for 2015-16

AFP

uva wrestlingUVA wrestling head coach Steve Garland announced Wednesday the signing of six student-athletes for the 2015-16 school year. The recruiting class has been tabbed No. 5 nationally by InterMat and the matches the top recruiting ranking in program history, set by the 2007 class.

The class consists of Corbin Allen (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover), Fox Baldwin (Kissimmee, Fla./Osceola), Cam Harrell (Arnold, Md./McDonogh), Austin Knies (Westfield, Va./Westfield), Sam Krivus (Greensburg, Pa. /Hempfield Area), Tyler Love (Clifton, Va./Centreville) and Jabari Moody (Country Club Hills, Ill./Rich Central). Six members of the class are nationally ranked by Flowrestling at their respective high school weight classes.

“This year’s class is outstanding,” Garland said. “We have a lot of talent coming in to our program, but we also have guys who flat out love wrestling. This is key, in my opinion, at the collegiate level. A lot of guys act like they love this sport, but deep down they don’t really have that fire in their heart that you need to have at this level. I’m not worried about that with this group. We are so excited to welcome them into the Virginia Wrestling family.”
