Virginia finished off an important bounceback weekend with a 7-4 win over NC State on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep.

UVA (36-12, 13-10 ACC) was up 3-0 after three batters in its half of the first, on the strength of a leadoff homer from Jade Hylton and a two-run homer from Bella Cabral.

Courtney Layne (12-4) picked up the win in relief, allowing two runs on two hits with three strikeouts.

The ’Hoos had come into the weekend having lost nine of their last 11 games.

Next up: Virginia hits the road to face Liberty (23-26) on Tuesday night at Kamphuis Field in Lynchburg.

First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
