UVa. men’s hoops tickets on sale Friday

Single-game tickets for all of the Virginia men’s basketball team’s non-conference home games during the 2009-10 season and Family Packages for four home games, including the Cavaliers’ Atlantic Coast Conference game with Miami, go on sale Friday, Oct. 16, at 9 a.m. exclusively on VirginiaSports.com. Telephone and ticket window sales of the non-conference home game tickets and the Family Packages begin on Monday (Oct. 19) at 9 a.m.

UVa’s non-conference home games include the season opener with Longwood on Nov. 13, Rider (Nov. 19), Oral Roberts (Nov. 21), Penn State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge (Nov. 30), UNC Wilmington (Dec. 19), New Jersey Institute of Technology (Dec. 21), Hampton (Dec. 23), UAB (Dec. 30) and Texas-Pan American (Jan. 5).

Single-game tickets for the Penn State game cost $30 each and tickets for the other eight non-conference home games are $15 each. Penn State won the National Invitation Tournament championship last season.

In addition to the ACC game with Miami (Jan. 16), Family Packages are available for Virginia’s home games with Longwood, UNC Wilmington and UAB. The Family Packages include four tickets, four hot dogs and four 22-ounce sodas. The cost of the Miami Family Package is $84 with additional tickets costing $21 each. The cost for the other three Family Packages is $48 for each package with additional tickets costing $12 each.

Season tickets for Virginia’s entire 17-game home schedule remain available for $405. UVa faculty and staff may purchase up to four season tickets at the discounted price of $324 each.

Also available is the ACC Package that includes tickets for each of Virginia’s eight ACC home games during the 2009-10 season at a cost of $255.

Fans may purchase tickets by calling the Virginia athletics ticket office at 800.542.8821 or 434.924.8821 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased in person by visiting the athletics ticket office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
