UVA basketballKyle Guy scored a career-high 30 points to pace #2 Virginia to a 100-64 win over Marshall on Monday in Charlottesville.

And, yes, that was the first 100-point outing of the Tony Bennett era at Virginia, and came on a three at the buzzer by team manager Grant Kersey, who was mobbed by his teammates at halfcourt after hitting the shot from the right wing.

Guy, ahead of the theatrics, was 10-of-14 from the floor and 7-of-9 from three-point range and added eight rebounds in 26 minutes for Virginia (12-0).

Marshall (7-6) never seriously threatened, falling behind 17-5 five minutes in and going down 50-25 at the half.

The defense keyed on Marshall guard Jon Elmore, who came in averaging 19.6 points per game, but shot just 4-of-17 from the floor for 14 points in 36 minutes.

Jay Huff had a season-high14 points and eight rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench for the Cavaliers.

Ty Jerome also had 14 for UVA. De’Andre Hunter added 11 for the ‘Hoos.
