UVa. clamps down on Jackets, rolls to 70-38 win

De-fense, bump bump bump, de-fense. That was the word for 15th-ranked Virginia in a gritty 70-38 win over Georgia Tech Thursday night.

Virginia (15-2, 2-1 ACC) led 35-17 at the half and were never seriously threatened in the final 20 minutes. Georgia Tech (8-10, 1-3 ACC) shot just 29.2 percent from the field and were outrebounded 41-22 by the Cavaliers.

Mike Scott scored 18 points to lead the Cavs, who also got 16 from Joe Harris and 10 from Sammy Zeglinski.

Kammeon Holsey was the only Yellow Jacket in double figures with 12 points.
