UVA basketball back at #1 in coaches poll

UVA basketballUVA basketball is back at #1 in the nation in this week’s coaches poll. The ‘Hoos (11-0) leapfrogged #2 Duke (11-1), which held steady this week, after Saturday’s loss by last week’s #1, Kansas, at Arizona State.

The vote was tight. Virginia got 10 first-place votes to Duke’s nine, and the Cavaliers outpaced the Blue Devils by two points overall, 757-755.

Tennessee (10-1) is third, having received seven first-place votes and 734 points.

Michigan (12-0) is fourth, with four first-place votes and 722 points.

Kansas (10-1) dropped to fifth, with two first-place votes and 670 points.

Florida State (11-1) is ninth in this week’s poll, and Virginia Tech (10-1) is 10th.

Two other ACC schools are ranked this week. North Carolina (8-3) is 14th, and NC State (11-1) is ranked for the first time this season, at 24th.
