The UVA Basketball squad opens its 2024-2025 ACC schedule at SMU on Dec. 7, and the ‘Hoos also play at both Cal and Stanford, with the Cal game set for an 11 p.m. ET tip.

Neither of the Left Coast teams have to fly our way for a noon ET tip, but we do get SMU at home, because that’s what the people want, a home-and-home with SMU.

If this is the new-look ACC, a necessity so the conference can make money from football, as if, let’s just break it up.

We also have home-and-homes with Virginia Tech and Louisville.

Otherwise, we get Duke, NC State, Georgia Tech and Clemson at home, and go to UNC and Wake Forest.

And then: a bunch of games with the old Big East, Pac 10 and Southwest Conference.
