UVA Baseball: Season opener vs. Vanderbilt to air on MLB Network

As part of the newly created MLB4 Collegiate Baseball Tournament taking place at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Ariz., the UVA baseball 2019 season opener against Vanderbilt on Friday, Feb. 15 will air on live on MLB Network and MLB.com.

The meeting is the first since the two programs clashed in back-to-back College World Series Finals in 2014 and 2015. First pitch between the Cavaliers and Commodores will be at 7 p.m. EST at the shared spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies.

In the tournament, Virginia will also square off against TCU (Feb. 16 – 7 p.m.) and Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 17 – 5 p.m.). Highlights and game casts of all MLB4 games will be available on MLB.com/MLB4.

Virginia will return to Disharoon Park for its home opener on Wednesday, Feb. 20 against VMI that kicks off a 13-game home stand.

Ticket Information

Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at VirginiaSports.com or through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. for in-person or telephone purchases. Telephone purchases can be made by calling 1-800-542-UVA1 (8821) or locally at 434-924-UVA1 (8821).

Single-game tickets and flex packages will go on sale Monday, Jan. 7.
