UVA (44-13) will be the #3 national seed in the 2014 NCAA Baseball Tournament, and will host Bucknell, Liberty and Arkansas this weekend in regional play in Charlottesville, Va.
The Cavs, who lost four of their last six games to end the regular season, will play Bucknell (30-19, RPI: 111) at 2 p.m. Friday in the opening game of the double-elimination four-team regional. Liberty (41-16, RPI: 28) and Arkansas (38-23, RPI: 33) will face off at 7 p.m. Friday.
The winner of the Charlottesville Regional will face the winner of the Columbia Regional, which features South Carolina (42-16, RPI: 13) , Campbell (40-1, RPI: 64), Old Dominion (36-24, RPI: 35) and Maryland (36-21, RPI: 25), in Super Regional play the weekend of June 6-9.
Virginia, as a national seed, would host the Super Regional should the ‘Hoos advance past the regional round.
