Speculation continues to swirl around the rumored WWE return of Hulk Hogan, who reportedly confirmed his pending homecoming at a marketing expo in Las Vegas this week.
Mike Johnson at PWInsider is reporting that Hogan and Roddy Piper are on the docket to do something together at WrestleMania 30, but that what is in the works for them is not clear. Johnson wrote that it doesn’t appear that Hogan and Piper will be working some sort of reprise of their tag-team main event from the first WrestleMania in 1985. That bout, you may remember, pitted Hogan and actor Mr. T against Piper and Paul Orndorff in a match that Hogan and Mr. T won after “Cowboy” Bob Orton attempted to interfere on behalf of the heels but mistakenly hit Piper and knocked him out, allowing Hogan to score the pin.
There has been talk of a match putting Hogan and John Cena on one side and Piper and a current heel, perhaps Randy Orton, on the other, with Mr. T and “Cowboy” Bob Orton as seconds for the respective teams. Johnson writes that it doesn’t appear that WWE creative wants to go in that direction.
