The City of Staunton has lifted the Boil Water Advisory that had been in effect since Friday after a water main break.

The city government, in a press release issued Monday morning, reported that water samples had been tested for both residual chlorine and bacteria, and that all samples collected from Friday through Sunday were absent of both total coliform and E. coli bacteria.

The release advised residents that, if they had been using water at your property throughout the weekend, that likely has already flushed your water lines.

If you would like to take additional steps, here are the guidelines from the Virginia Department of Health.

For food establishments, follow these guidelines from the Virginia Department of Health.
