Update: 10-14 inches of snow possible tonight, Wednesday

snow-plow-headerThe National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Staunton-Waynesboro-Augusta and Harrisonburg-Rockingham areas with a forecast for 10-14 inches of snow in the areas and higher accumulations possible.

The Winter Storm Warning is in effect beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday through midnight Wednesday.

The precipitation should begin as rain this afternoon before changing over to snow early this evening. Snow will be heavy at times in the overnight hours and during the day on Wednesday.

Sustained winds of 15-25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph are also forecast.
