United Way Corporate Cup to take place in Waynesboro on Sunday

united-way-of-greater-augustaUnited Way of Greater Augusta will hold its annual Corporate Cup event on Sunday. This year’s event will demonstrate how teamwork and healthy competition build camaraderie among organizational employees.

Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro will be the location and the event will feature employees from various local companies competing in events such as Basketball Shoot, Corn hole, Golf, Football Toss, Trivia, Water Balloon Toss, and Tug of War.

There will also be an “Amazing Race” as employees hurry through hands on activities designed to teach them more about non-profits in the community.  There will as well be activities for both children and adults to enjoy include two Bouncy Houses, RC Cars, games, and multiple food trucks will be present throughout the day for people to purchase food.

A Scavenger Hunt will also give participants the opportunity to learn about 26 non-profits that will be scattered throughout the park sharing information about the services that they provide.  The event is open to the public and most activities are free.  The day kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with individual events taking place throughout the middle of the day, and team events begin at 1:00 p.m. and lasting throughout the afternoon.

Local companies sponsoring events are Best Buy, Hershey Chocolate, Hollister, Target, Lumos Networks, Rexnord, MedExpress, McKee Foods, Nibco, and The News Leader.
