Two arrests made in Waynesboro armed robbery

A Staunton man and Augusta County man were arrested in connection with a reported armed robbery at a Waynesboro motel on Tuesday.

Brandon J. Walker, 23, of Staunton, and Michael David Keys Jr., 20, of Stuarts Draft, face multiple charges from the incident. The Waynesboro 911 center received a call at 4:44 p.m. Tuesday for an armed robbery that just occurred at a motel room of the Royal Inn located at 2112 W. Main St. When officers arrived on scene, they located and interviewed two adult victims who reported being robbed at gunpoint in their room of some personal belongings by unknown assailants.

No injuries were reported.

Walker and Keys were arrested by deputies with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office this morning at a residence in Stuarts Draft without incident and are currently pending a bond hearing with the magistrate.
