A Mark Trumbo grand slam keyed a middle-inning outburst that lifted Baltimore to a 9-6 win at Oakland Thursday afternoon.
Trumbo (.262/.312/.527, 32 HR, 82 RBI) added an RBI single in the fourth. Adam Jones (.277/.321/.468, 23 HR, 66 RBI) homered and had two hits for the O’s (64-50).
Chris Tillman (15-4, 3.46 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) got the win, giving up two runs on five hits in seven innings, striking out four.
Zach Britton (35 saves, 0.56 ERA, 0.81 WHIP) pitched around a self-created bases-loaded jam in the ninth to record the save.
