Tim Kaine has more than $10 million on hand for 2018 Senate campaign

tim kaineSen. Tim Kaine has more than $10 million cash on hand for his re-election campaign in Virginia after raising more than $2 million, from 13,918 individual contributions, in the first quarter of 2018.

This quarter, 72 percent of Kaine’s donors were from the Commonwealth of Virginia, and he brought in more than $464,000 online, through a total of 10,047 individual online contributions. The average online contribution was less than $50. Kaine has raised nearly $16 million this cycle.

This announcement underscores the breadth of Kaine’s support following his formal campaign launch last week, where more than 3,000 Virginians attended events across the Commonwealth to support his candidacy.

In the past eight days, Kaine has held campaign events in 24 Virginia cities: Richmond, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, Big Stone Gap, Abingdon, Bristol, Blacksburg, Salem, Roanoke, Powhatan, Danville, Martinsville, Lynchburg, Ashburn, Fairfax, Dumfries, Kilmarnock, Alexandria, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville and Wachapreague.
