Chris Tillman threw seven losing streak-breaking innings to push Baltimore to a 4-1 win over the L.A. Dodgers Tuesday night.
Tillman (11-2, 3.55 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) gave up a run on five hits in seven innings of work, striking out two and walking two, on 100 pitches, 65 for strikes.
Brad Brach (14 holds, 0.99 ERA, 0.79 WHIP) struck out the side in a 1-2-3 eighth, and Zach Britton (24 saves, 0.78 ERA, 0.78 WHIP) gave up a hit and struck out two in the ninth to nail down the save.
Manny Machado (.324/.380/.590, 19 HR, 53 RBI) had a three-run homer in the fifth for Baltimore (48-35), which snapped a five-game losing streak.
The O’s have a two and a half game lead on Toronto (47-39) in the American League East.
