accMulti-platinum national recording duo Thompson Square and country music star Chase Rice will perform at the 2014 ACC FanFest presented by AT&T, game officials announced. ACC FanFest, which is free and open to the public, takes place Saturday, Dec. 6, from noon to 7:00 p.m., leading up to the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. Thompson Square will perform at 4:00 p.m. and Rice will perform at 5:30 p.m. on the Dr Pepper Stage.

In addition, the Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association award-winning Thompson Square will perform the national anthem prior to the primetime kickoff.

With two #1 smash singles, five Top 15 hits, seven national awards and over 25 nominations (including American Music Award, Teen Choice Award and two GRAMMY nods), Thompson Square is one of today’s hottest Country music acts. The husband/wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson made music history when it earned awards from both the ACM and CMA for “Vocal Duo of the Year” in 2012.  Thompson Square was awarded its second consecutive ACM Award for “Vocal Duo of the Year” in April 2013.

Thompson Square’s breakthrough hit “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” has surpassed two million in sales, was the #1 Digital Soundscan Single for five weeks straight, the No. 1 Country Ringtone for 12 consecutive weeks and the Most Played Song at Country Radio in 2011 (Mediabase). Thompson Square followed that success with the award winning hit, “I Got You,” and critically-acclaimed “Glass.”  Thompson Square’s star continues to rise in 2014 with the #1 GOLD selling heart-tugger “If I Didn’t Have You” and its Top 5 hit, “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About,” both from the duo’s current album, Just Feels Good.

North Carolina-raised Chase Rice played linebacker at the University of North Carolina. Rice’s current album Ignite The Night debuted #1 on Billboard Top Country Albums in August of this year. It includes “Ready Set Roll,” the Gold-certified single. He has released two previous albums, Country as Me and Dirt Road Communion, and co-wrote the number one single performed by Florida Georgia Line, “Cruise.”

After graduating from UNC, Rice took a job as part of the NASCAR Hendrick Motorsports pit crew. He first came into the public’s eye when he was a contestant on the TV show “Survivor: Nicaragua,” eventually finishing second in the running.

ACC FanFest presented by AT&T, located adjacent to Bank of America Stadium and centered at the intersection of Mint and Graham Streets, is the ultimate pregame activity. Football fans of all ages can get into the spirit of ACC Football with interactive games and attractions, team mascots, food and beverage, autograph signings, game merchandise, giveaways and general family fun. Special attractions include an ACC Mascot Football game and live music throughout the day.

The 2014 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game will be played in Charlotte on Saturday, Dec. 6 with a primetime kickoff and gates opening at 6:00 p.m. The game is held at Bank of America Stadium, home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and the Belk Bowl. The ACC Champion earns an automatic berth to play in the Capital OneOrange Bowl, if not selected for the College Football Playoff.
