My take on the LeBron James saga: ahem, if I’m The King, I’m packing my bags for the Big Apple.
The most sense to be made here is on the court. The Knicks have the best situation salary-cap-wise to be able to build around LeBron, as has been demonstrated by their apparent deal in place with Amar’e Stoudemire. There appears to be enough room to add James and possibly one other top-tier free agent. The best anybody else can do is pair James with one top-of-the-line player, and Cleveland doesn’t seem to have the flexibility to do more than resign James and maybe add a midlevel-exception player.
