Teodora Radosavljevic to join UVA women’s tennis program

virginia tennisUVA head women’s tennis coach Mark Guilbeau announced the addition of Teodora Radosavljevic (Belgrade, Serbia) to the program on Friday (June 10).

A transfer from George Washington, Radosavljevic will have two years of eligibility at Virginia. She joins already signed players Hunter Bleser, Camille Favero, Chloe Gullickson and Rosie Johanson who comprised a class ranked sixth nationally by TennisRecruiting.net.

“It is a great pleasure, and very exciting, to have Teodora joining us,” Guilbeau said. “Aside from being a very strong tennis player, Teodora carries high standards academically and in leadership. She has expressed and displayed to me the desire to lead at the highest level on and off the courts. She has shown great initiative and organization throughout this process. These traits will be a great asset to the program and both with and for her teammates.”

“I am honored to become a part of such a strong academic and athletic institution,” Radosavljevic said. “I am looking forward to giving 100 percent on and off the court in order to contribute to this program the best way I can.”

A two-time all-conference selection at George Washington, Radosavljevic led the Colonials in wins in back-to-back seasons. As a sophomore in 2016, she went 19-12 at the top position in singles for the Colonials as she helped George Washington advance to the semifinals of the A-10 Tournament.

As a freshman in 2015, Radosavljevic went 19-10, tying the record for most wins by a rookie in program history on her way to her first all-conference selection. She played the top spot in singles for the Colonials in her first year.

She was named to the George Washington Athletics Academic Dean’s List and was a Member of the Fall Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2014.

“We have an incredible, young, determined and disciplined group altogether now for the upcoming season and beyond,” Guilbeau said. “I know the entire group is ready to work hard daily so that we continue the successful path this program has been on. Teodora will be a big part of this process and we are very happy to welcome her into the program.”
