Teen dead from self-inflicted shooting wound in Waynesboro

newspaperA 17-year-old teen is dead from a self-inflicted shooting reported early Monday morning at the McDonald’s on Town Center Drive in Waynesboro.

Police responded to the scene at 1:14 a.m. Monday.

The teen was transported from the scene by the Waynesboro First Aid Crew and airlifted to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
