Tap legend Savion Glover returns to The Paramount

Legendary tap dancer Savion Glover to return to The Paramount Theater in Charlottesville for one night only, on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m.  Savion’s shows are known to dazzle audiences around the world with what the New York Times refers to as “…magical, unstoppable feet.”

gloverGlover is a Tony-winning hoofer, choreographer and producer. The critically acclaimed Savion has been dubbed “the best tap dancer ever”. His numerous credits include the Broadway shows The Tap Dance KidBlack and Blue;Jelly’s Last Jam; and Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk, and the films Tap with Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr.;Bamboozled by Spike Lee; and Happy Feet, an Academy Award winner choreographed by Glover.

His show at The Paramount promises to be dazzling for young and old alike. A recent review of his show by The New York Times reads: “When (the music) stops everyone freezes, but there’s an unsettling rattle that takes a moment to place. It’s Mr. Glover’s toe, just his toe. And then, as Miles Davis’s “Flamenco Sketches” fades in and the other dancers gradually back away, Mr. Glover’s solo blossoms – adding first a heel, then the other foot – into a dance of intense beauty.” Join us for a night of world-class dance on Nov. 20!
