Back-to-back fourth-inning RBI hits by Evan Longoria and James Loney were all that Tampa Bay needed in a 2-0 win over Baltimore Friday night.
The game was played at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay after being on the schedule in Baltimore. The weekend series between the American League East rivals was shifted due to the ongoing tense situation in Baltimore in the wake of the death of a black man in police custody that has spawned citywide protests.
Alex Colome (1-0) and four relievers shut down the O’s, limiting Baltimore to four hits without issuing a walk and striking out 13 Orioles batters.
Chris Tillman (2-2) took the tough-luck loss, giving up two runs on three hits in seven innings.
