UVA (31-3) has now made it to the Sweet 16 in three of the past six seasons.

The Cavaliers led by as many as 13 in the first half before going into the break up nine, at 31-22, holding the Sooners (20-14) to 31 percent shooting.

A Kihei Clark layup on UVA’s first possession out of the locker room pushed the lead back to double-digits, and it would never get closer.

Mamadi Diakite was dominant in the post, scoring 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting and pulling down a game-high nine rebounds.

Virginia was 16-of-21 on shots in the paint for the game, and limited OU to 6-of-13 shooting in the painted area.

Ty Jerome heated up in the second half, scoring eight of his 12 points after halftime.

De’Andre Hunter added 10 for UVA, which overcame a bad shooting night by Kyle Guy, who was just 2-of-15 from the floor and missed all 10 of his three-point attempts.

Clark had nine points in 33 minutes for Virginia, which shot 48.2 percent (27-of-55) from the floor for the game.

Brady Manek had 13 points for Oklahoma, but was held scoreless in the second half.
