Chris Graham

Augusta Health Lifetime Fitness challenges the community to start “Steppin’ Out … for a Lifetime.” This event, which will run from April 18-24 in honor of Medical Fitness Week, is a national walking challenge to encourage people to take 70,000 steps in seven days.

Participants can work individually or as part of a team up of up to six members. In addition to having a week’s worth of fun and developing a lifetime of healthy habits, participants will receive a pedometer and be eligible for prizes.

Cost to participate is $15 for adults and $8 for children under 12 years of age, and $75 for teams of up to six members. Nonmembers will receive passes to use the walking track at Lifetime Fitness during the week and discounts on membership.

The week will begin with a Campus Kick-Off Walk and Reception on Monday, April 18 at 5:30 pm at Lifetime Fitness. Other events include special Cardio Tennis and Zumba Classes.

More information and registration forms are available at Lifetime Fitness’ Front Desk, from the website, www.augustahealth.com/lifetime-fitness/announcements, or by calling Angela Kaltenborn at 540.332.5527.
