Staunton YMCA to host Magical Adventure Kids’ Night Out

ymcaThe Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA is offering a Harry Potter-themed Magical Adventure Kids’ Night Out during Queen City Mischief and Magic.

The Saturday night event allows parents a chance to explore Staunton while the YMCA provides Harry Potter-themed entertainment for kids ages 5-11 in a supervised structure.

“It’s an event that we’re holding so parents can enjoy the festival on their own,” YMCA youth and family director Ashley Cole said. “It will be a great time for parents to go out and enjoy some of the nice restaurants in Staunton, go to the Yule Ball, maybe do a Ghost Tour, and then pick their kids up at 9 (pm).”

The YMCA event includes:

  • Swimming at the “Black Lake” (the YMCA pool)
  • Wand-making
  • A Harry Potter-themed photo booth
  • Craft & lobbies

Cole hopes everyone takes advantage.

“We’re hoping that local people but also out-of-town people visiting Staunton for the first time would take part in this,” Cole said. “They may not have family nearby to watch their kids if they wanted to do something more adult-oriented.”
