Staunton West End Alliance to hold City Council, School Board forums

staunton virginiaThe Staunton West End Alliance, a local community group, will hold candidate forums for the upcoming city council and school board elections.

Each forum will be moderated by The News Leaders Community Conversations Editor, Deona Houff.  Topics and questions for each forum will pertain to issues facing the entire Staunton community.

The dates for each event are as follows:

  • City Council Forum, Wednesday April 13th @ 7pm at Marquis Memorial Church on West Beverley
  • School Board Forum, Wednesday April 20th @ 7pm at Marquis Memorial Church on West Beverley

Each forum will take place in Marquis Memorial Church’s large social hall off of the lower parking lot.

If residents would like certain topics and questions to be considered for each forum, residents can post them to Staunton West End Alliance’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/stauntonwestend/

Staunton’s West End Alliance is a citizen led effort to organize residents and partners of Staunton’s West End to address the concerns of our area’s businesses, business owners and residents. Our goal is to improve our area’s general infrastructure, visibility, and overall aesthetic in an effort to increase foot traffic to local businesses, raise property values for residents and create a safer, more pleasant place to live.
